Summer Lovin'

**If you're here for the blog hop, scroll down!**

I have a confession to make - I absolutely LOVE the new "Restoration" collection from Crate Paper. It's so yummy. I may just have to go pick some more of it up! And how fab is this pre-stitched cardstock? It's totally for gals like me who cannot figure out how to thread their sewing machine (and it's been collecting dust for 4 years....)

Paris - the City of Love

**If you're here for the blog hop, scroll down!**

Now that the summer has come to an end, I finally feel like I have some time to myself again. "Stay-cationing" all summer long definitely isn't the most relaxing thing in the world, but it sure was fun! Now I just need to get all the summer photos developed, and because of that, I dug a little into the archives to grab these pictures from 2008 for this Sketchabilities sketch.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

Sketchabilities Blog Hop

It's SKETCHABILITIES first ever Blog Hop!

First, the rules:

This blog hop is run a bit differently than others. There is an order for you to hop!

[1] Follow the hop by visiting
Karan Gerber's blog first, find the word, and go to the next blog listed.

[2] For our followers to be considered for the final Sponsor Giveaway, you need to hop to Design Team Blogs that are participating in the blog hop in order …On those blogs, you will find a highlighted word in Orange. Find the highlighted word, make note of it and leave some feedback. All these highlighted words combined form a catch phrase about Sketchabilities.

[3] You need to comment on each Designer Blog to be considered for the individual RAK the Design Team Members are offering (and become a follower of my blog), and your last step..

[4] You will need to put that “catch” phrase together and bounce back to the Sketchabilities site to leave your final comment and the “catch” phrase.

You'll have 5 days to complete the hop dates are Sept 15th until 20th!

Winners of each DT Blog Rak and the Final Sponsor Giveaway prize will be posted Sept 22nd!

Here you will find links to all the Sketchabiliies designers participating in the bounce. Each of them have a RAK to give away and all you need to do is leave them a comment on their blogs.

Now, for the fun!

Sketchabilities is such a fantastic sketch blog. I'm a huge fan of sketches, and their blog won be over BIG TIME! So, I hope when the blog hop is over, you will come and play with us twice a month (the sketch reveals come out every 15th and 30th).

And, for a RAK! Here's what's up for grabs:

Everything you need to make 8 designer cards!
-8 cards & envelopes
-four sizes, two of each size
-die cut sheet, chipboard and rub-on embellishments
-step-by-step instructions on how to assemble
-over 100 pieces!

And finally, the word I'm offering up today is "Participating". So, now it's time to hop on over to
Amy's blog, where you'll find an enormous amount of inspiration!

Ticket to Ride

This was our year to go to the rodeo at the Calgary Stampede (Josh's parents have season tickets, but they're split between Josh and his sister). The seats are AMAZING (front row, right above the chutes!), so I was able to take some pretty great pictures. Here's one of the layouts that I've made, and I'm sure there will be plenty more to come!

This layout was created for the GDT challenge at Magistical Memories. Their challenge was to use their sketch and incorporate chipboard into the layout. For this layout, I used a chipboard ticket from Maya Road and covered it with patterened paper for part of the title. Also, the journaling is done on a Maya Road chipboard frame (also covered with patterened paper and misted).

Family

Summer is pretty much done, and as much as we didn't have a summer, I'm pretty excited for things to slow down around here. Hopefully, that'll give me some much needed scrappin' time!

Here's a layout that I completed for Scrapbook Sussies:
