Cake Wars

I made this page for this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch. 2-pagers make me a bit nervous, so I basically cut the sketch in half, and here's what I came up with!

Zoorassic Park

Can you tell that I'm just lovin' this Crate Paper collection?! The colors are great, and they definitely work when I don't have girly things to scrapbook!

These photos are almost 5 years old - when Josh and I first started dating. I'm sure I have scrapped them before (years before!), but I have been slacking on the picture taking as of late. Something I need to get on!

Sun Bathing Pup

What?! I can't believe I forgot to upload this layout! I guess in my interview today when I was asked what animal I was, and I responded with "An elephant, because elephants never forget" was a blatant lie, LOL!

I don't know how well you can see it from the photo, but I just love this embossed cardstock.

Josh's New Toy

Josh bought a new car back in January, and I've been itching to scrap these photos ever since. When I received the Brook Collection, I knew it'd be perfect for these pictures!

Meet the band

My birthday falls during Stampede week every year. In 2006, we were at Nashville North celebrating, and Doc Walker was on stage. I had no idea, but my girlfriend went up to their stage manager and had them wish me a happy birthday on stage, so I rushed from the back of the tent to the stage to snag this photo!

Heritage Park

What a week! Even though I've finished classes, I'm still super busy. I was volunteering at an oil and gas convention last week and I had my huge presentation to the executives at Encana, and then I spent all weekend landscaping. But, it's all over now, my yard looks fabulous (if I do say so myself!), and I can finally start to get ready for my trip to Italy!

Because I've been pretty busy, I haven't had time to post this layout that I did based on Sketch 63 from the Scrappiest blog. I intended to stitch all of the circles on the background paper, but I felt that this followed the sketch:

Photo Booth Fun

I made this layout for this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch. The layout is of my girlfriend and I in London trying to get some typical tourist shots (sorta, we were a little tipsy, he he). And those phone booths definitely don't smell too great, just an FYI!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the scrappy moms out there! Here's a card that I made for Josh's mom. She absolutely loved it, as did everyone else, The offer was tossed out there to make their wedding invitations. Um... thanks, but I'll definitely have to pass on that one (that's crazy talk, and I think they'd get worse as I continued!).

Scrap Our Stash Guest Designer

I'm soo happy to announce that I was asked to be the guest designer for May at Scrap Our Stash challenge blog. The challenge for this month is to "get out of your box" and do something that you wouldn't normally do on a layout/project. For me, cardstock is my best friend when it comes to the base/background of my layouts, so I knew for this challenge I had to find a patterned paper to use instead. So, here's what I came up with:

Family on Christmas

So, if you have happened to stumble upon my blog more than once, you can probably tell that I love to stitch on my layouts. This is the first time that I did a hand-stitched title (which was a little painful), but I do like the way it turned out.

More NSD goodness

I'm a little bummed that I didn't get more accomplished this year, but at least I got something done. Here are two more layouts that I completed:

A lot of Prima goodies in this one (patterend paper, trellis roses, say it in crystals & script alphabets) and a Hambly Studios "All Mixed Up" overlay

This layout was created for a sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges. It's a great sketch, I mean, who doesn't absolutely love the banner look right now?! You should play along, too! To start, just go to Pamela's blog, or go here to get some inspiration!

Yay, NSD!

Happy NSD everyone! I love how NSD has been spread out to cover the entire weekend (and in some cases, a whole week!). It reminds me of when I was younger and I'd stretch my birthday to be a week long event!

Here's a layout that I created for a NSD challenge over at 2peas:
