Welcoming 2010

It's hard to believe that in a few hours, 2010 is going to be here. I remember NYE 2009, with the thoughts on disaster on the horizon when the clock struck midnight. I can't help but giggle a bit.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and since I'm back up and running (my computer decided it'd be a good time to die on me a fwe weeks ago. Good thing Boxing Day was just around the corner...), I will be posting some layouts soon.

Winter Snow Storm

... and boy, did it hit hard. The forecast called for 20 cm in 9 hours, and I don't doubt that we got it. And because of the heavey snowfall warning for pretty much the entire province, the President of our school sent out an e-mail to everyone telling them to leave the school by 2pm. I didn't (as I had a huge final project due that night), but I did manage to leave by 3:30pm.

And, due to a cold and blizzardy night, I was forced to stay indoors where it was nice and warm. Good thing there was a 2peas crop going on, because that motivated me to get some layouts done!

Wedding pt. 2

In August we went to a wedding that spanned 2 days. The first day was a beautiful Indian wedding - the colors were amazing. Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures, so I don't have anything to show from that day (other than Josh wearing a lovely purple head scarf, LOL).

The next day was their Christian wedding, so I was able to score some pictures from that. And, I finally got around to scrapping them (using another one of Sketchy Thursday's sketches).

Cute Christmas Gift Idea

How adorable are these nesting bowls. I can think of a million ways to use these. I mean, how many spare embellies do we all have laying around. These would be perfect. Eco Chic Hand Knits has so many cute things that are perfect for gift giving - you should check 'em out!

My little batdog!

On Halloween, we dressed Brodie up as "Batdog". I love the attention he gets from all of the little trick-or-treaters when they come to the door. I'm one proud momma!

Thank You

Josh received a gift from one of his aunts, so his mom and I got on his butt to send a thank-you card. So, he put me on it (anything to avoid going to the store), and I made this simple thank-you.

Ingredients:
Crate Paper Blue Grass collection, MS loopy border punch, MS ribbon and a Michaels thank-you stamp.

Happy Halloween!

Okay, I admit I'm a couple days later, but I just wanted to share a picture of our pumpkin from this year.

Prima goodness

I've finally scrapped a page. I've been beyond busy with school (who knew doing a Masters program would be so intense?!). Anyways, I hope you enjoy (and I hope I'll be able to post more often).

Lots of Prima goodies in this one!

New Butterfly Frame

I purchased a sheet of 12x12 die cute butterflies (they're absolutely gorgeous), and immediately I knew what I wanted to use them for. I love the little butterfly collage that I made (using the MS stamp), but it was quite small. This one definitely trumps my previous one in size, that's for sure!

I'm not too sure where I'll hand it yet. I think it'd be great for a little girls room, but alas, I'm not even married, so that may be put on the back burner =P . Into my craft room it goes!

My guilty pleasure

I have to admit, I do have a guilt pleasure - shopping. It doesn't matter what it's for, if it can be sold, I wanna buy it =P

Now, I know I'm not the only one who loves to shop, so I thought I'd share with everyone one of my favorite online shopping sites. I mean, designer goods are always better when they're on sale.

Oh, this is great

I found this on the Cosmo Cricket blog, and I just had to share!

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slowdown in the overall performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0 and NBA 3.0. And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind; Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Try entering the command

C:// I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME

and download Tears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0. If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will create Snoring Loudly.wav files.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider additional software to improve memory and
performance. I personally recommend Hot Food 3.0 and Lingerie 6.9.

Good Luck,
Joyce at Tech Support

Rockin' and a Rollin'

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who visits my blog. I love looking at the live feed to see where everyone who visits lives. My boyfriend is quite interested in that too, but then again he's interested in anything that involves communication with people around the world - he's enthralled with the mail system. I always hear something like "don't you think it's cool that this letter/postcard/parcel was in [select city] just a few days ago?". Yes, it doesn't take much to excite him =P!

And, here's another layout completed for CHA. I used the sketch from SBE's Aug/Sept. issue (page 94).

American Crafts Felt Thickers

I'm like a kid in a candy store!

It's such a scrappy day for me! I've completed 2 layouts (seen in the post below), went to Michaels and grabbed a bunch of Making Memories "Vintage Findings" (hello, it was 40% off!), and my huge shopping spree from 2peas came in today. Since I'm so giddy about all the goodies, I thought I'd post pictures of them. Hopefully they'll inspire you to go through your stash and start scrapping for CHA, too!

Feel free to click on any image to enlarge =)

Some alpha stickers - you can never have enough!

A couple of stamps. The Basic Grey stamp was sent to me (for free) from 2peas because I spent so much on BG supplies!

Some travel goodies. 2Peas was sold out of everything I wanted, so I'll definitely have to keep my eye out for the rest of it.

Some summer themed goodies!

All my BG "bling it" goodies. If it was in stock, it was in my cart!

More bling! Can you tell that I have a minor addiction?

Love these stars (and the "little devil" stickers)

Some Maya Road chipboard albums (to add to the ever growing collection =P )

Some randomness. I love the canvas tags. They'll go perfect in the mini album I'm working on

Some Primas. Aren't they gorgeous?!

And some random papers. There were more pictured, but for some reason the image is cut off.

CHA Celebration

So, CHA is in full gear, so what better excuse to scrap?

Materials used : SEI "dill blossoms"
American Crafts Thickers "LAX"
Pink Paislee "Holly Doodle"
KaiserCrafts "Rhinestone"
Maya Road Sheers " A Year to Remember"
Scenic Route "Vacation" Rub-ons
Martha Stewart "Scallop Dot" border punch

Summer CHA 2009

What's better than when a bunch of gorgeous new products are being released? Nothing (well, maybe laying on the couch eating a tub of ice cream [with no consequences mind you] and the hubby giving me a foot massage) !

Here are a couple of my favorites that are going to be released, and I cannot wait!!

First, new Bella Blvd. Their "Camped Out" line is super cute!

Love Reminisce's "Autumn Forest", too! There seems to be a theme going on here ;)

Also, Sassafras never disappoints!

Sketchy Thursday

I'm at 'er again (and lovin' the sketches). Here's my take on this week's sketch

I love hand stitching on layouts (as you've probably noticed). I think it just adds that little extra. It just takes a toll on my hand!

Scrapsketch Challenge #1

Ah, sketches... They sure are firing up my mojo! Here's my take on the sketch for this week (found on 2 peas, of course).

Don't you just love using Sassafras? Their collections are so fun to play with, and not to mention oh so yummy! And, they have a new line coming out (called "me likey", which I do). I can't wait to score some of it =)

Nothing like a good sketch to get you back in the mood!

I'm back from my little European adventure! I stumbled across Diana Fisher's blog, where she posts a new sketch each Thursday, and I thought I'd participate! Here's my entry for her sketch this week:

More LOs

I made these layouts for NSD weekend, but I'm just getting around to uploading them now. Since that weekend, I have the scrapbooking itch, so hopefully I'll be posting some of the newer layouts/mini albums I've created since then (I haven't even photographed them yet).

Hope everyone had a great weekend =)
