First off I'd like to share my excitement. I went to Michael's on Thursday because they were have a ridiculous sale, plus, with a coupon you would get an extra 25% off your entire purchase (before noon). So, I stocked up on Jetmax cubes. I've been wanting these for so long, and with them being 40% initially, the extra 25 was icing on the cake. I don't have room for them anywhere right now (I'm stuck in a cramped corner in our undeveloped and cluttered basement right now), but one day I'll have that scrap space I've dreamed about =) Anyways, with all my excitement, I decided to put together one of them (the one with one drawer) while I watched the Flames hockey game. It took way too long because I only had one of the correct screwdrivers, but I was determined, and one hour later, I had my finished product. But for now it'll just sit in the basement with the rest...
I have not had any time to scrap because the end of the semester is looming, but I did happen to make a holiday card.
I do wish the picture was better, but the glittered letters have yet to be adhered to the PP (because the one adhesive I had decided to use was completely dried up - oh well, another excuse to go shopping). And, I'm not completely satisfied with the product, but it is my first card so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.
Well, back to work I go - only 2 more weeks left until classes are finished, and I can focus on my creative side =)

A Good Idea
I received an e-mail this morning, and I thought I'd post it because it really is a good idea.
Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.
This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this:
It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar rapist won't stick around... After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there ..... This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.

Halloween Goodies
So, Halloween is over, but it's never too late to post pictures of my Halloween project this year! I didn't have a lot of time to do everything I wanted, so I settled on these cute take-out boxes I purchased from Micheals. I used naked chipboard letters bought at my LSS and painted them with orange paint and then added some cute Halloween stickers, bling and ribbon. Once these were done I stuffed them full of sweets for friends. I love how every holiday can be turned into a gift-giving one!
I also have to include this adorable picture of my baby, Brodie. It was his eighth Halloween, and I think this has been his best costume. The kids at the door loved seeing "Batdog" and I know he loved all of the attention too!

Ah!
I feel so uninspired lately. I started a page today, but before that I hadn't completed one since June! I know, that's pretty pathetic. I'm blaming it on a hectic school schedule, but I could be working on something scrap related (even if it is just cleaning off my work area so I could scrap in the future and be able to find everything). I bought a chipboard mini-album that I have to have done before Christmas (I'm making an album for my boyfriend's parents about our trip to Europe), so I'll have to get motivated somehow!
Here's the last layout I completed (the one from June). When I add the finishing touches to the page I started today, I'll post that one as well.
Notice the picture of the Colosseum?! I love that picture. Rome definitely was my favorite place of all of the places we visited, so I just had to make it the background for my title of my blog! I cannot wait to go back, and if I have my way I'll be back there in 18 months or so!
